Lake Erie Crushers manager Cam Roth is leaving his post with the Crushers and will assume a managerial position with the Tigers’ minor-league system.

According to a release from the Crushers, the 2019 Frontier League Manager of the Year will join the Tigers immediately, and the Crushers are on the hunt for a new manager.

Crushers co-owner Tom Kramig was pleased with how Roth did and is excited for what lies ahead for him.

“Cam Roth has done an outstanding job since joining the Crushers back in 2016,” Kramig said in a news release. “This is a great opportunity for Cam and we want to thank him, and wish him the very best of success going forward.”

Roth posted a 197-187 record since joining the Crushers halfway through the 2016 season. They captured the 2019 Frontier League Eastern Division title in their first playoff appearance in Roth’s tenure.

Before he joined the Crushers, Roth was a coach in the Schaumburg Boomers organization. He also pitched in the Orioles’ farm system prior to that.

“I have nothing but fond memories of my time in Lake Erie,” Roth said. “The fans, players and front office have been tremendous, and I see nothing but good things ahead for the Crushers organization.”
